Some DVDs

For those living in Ireland who like to buy good movies I would thoroughly recommend seeking out your local Xtra-Vision (and no, I don’t work for Xtra-Vision). If you look hard enough you will find an array of contemporary foreign films, indie films and documentaries at really cheap prices. Yes they are pre-owned so they have those manky stickers that can’t be removed but the discs are always fine and for the prices, you can’t really complain. Here are a bunch of highly acclaimed movies (only about half of which I’ve seen) that I purchased. All of these were part of a ‘2 for €7’ offer. Back of the net!

Mysterious Skin
(2005, Gregg Araki)
The Night of the Sunflowers
(2006, Jorge Sanchez-Cabezudo)
Me and You and Everyone We Know
(2005, Miranda July)

4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days
(2007, Christian Mingiu)

Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices
(2006, Robert Greenwald)

Camera Buff
(1979, Krzysztof Kieslowski)

Robot Chicken: Star Wars
(2008, Seth Green)

Code Unknown
(2000, Michael Haneke)
